30 September 2002The Next Worst ThingSince the page looks rather dismal, we thought we’d add a few random comments on various events, people, and places to liven it up. First, we thought we’d send out some random greetings to Ben Franklin, of New York, NY. We know nothing about Mr. Franklin—indeed, we’re not even sure there is a Ben Franklin in New York—but we figure that with some 8 million people in the area, there’s a pretty good chance at least one of them is named Ben Franklin. If, by happy coincidence, he reads this page, we’d like to tell him hello. Perhaps we’ll actually meet him someday. It will be our birthday in a few days. Be sure to send gifts. Preferably expensive ones. We have a list, and we’ll know who doesn’t send us gifts. Expensive ones. We’ve made the list of people someone knows: read all about me here. Just for the record, we aren’t a psychotic killer—despite our consistent reference to ourselves in the plural. Our random quote for the day, courtesy of the St. Martin’s Guide to Writing, 6th edition: “Thinking critically means…” Happy birthday to us. Don’t forget. |
